The Director General of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), Dr. Dakuku Peterside has called on the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) to remain committed to its ideals of professionalism in the discharge of its mandate.
Receiving a delegation of the Management of the foremost News Agency in Nigeria led by its Managing Director, Bayo Onanuga, the DG also pledged the commitment of NIMASA to partner with NAN towards the sustainable development of the Nigerian maritime industry.
Dr. Peterside who described NAN as Nigeria’s window to the rest of the world also urged the agency to project Nigeria positively in order to attract investment interests into the country.
He said “we will like to collaborate with your Agency so that the opportunities in the maritime sector are positively portrayed to the rest of the world because we believe in the efficacy of communication as a critical tool for reformation and repositioning”.
Earlier in his remarks, Mr Onanuga commended the DG for his efforts in repositioning NIMASA and called for a partnership that will further project the Agency positively to the global community.
He therefore invited Peterside to the NAN Forum which provides chief executives the opportunity of showcasing the potentials of their organisations or sectors to a global audience.
