PGC wins IbomFest 2016 media account

Peekaboo Global Consulting (PGC) Limited has won the media account for the maiden edition of the IbomFest Heritage Festival which is billed to run from December 15 to 17, 2016 in Akwa Ibom State.

The festival is geared at diverting investment and tourism traffic to Akwa Ibom through the provision of artistic, cultural and tourism platforms to add value to the state’s economy.

Speaking at the formal signing of the service-level agreement which had PGC Lead Consultant, Darlington Abuda, and IbomFest Project Consultant, Apeh Harrison Iwodi, in attendance, Special Assistant to the Akwa Ibom Governor on Tourism, Ini Edo, stated that the festival which has as its theme “Our Culture Beyond Borders” would simultaneously showcase the tourism potentials of the state to visitors while giving residents a renewed appreciation of their state.

Nollywood actress, Ini Edo, who is also the project manager, explained that IbomFest would also showcase the wealth of the state in terms of historic sites, sculptural landscapes, topography, cuisines, to arts and crafts that abound in the state.

This showcase, she further explained, would attract foreign direct investment to the state as well as create opportunity for stakeholders in the tourism industry to showcase their potentials.

Commenting on the appointment, Abuda said “we thank God and the client for believing in us”.

He went on to express his agency’s determination to support the Governor Udom Emmanuel-led administration’s strategy to provide a robust programme that would fast track the development of the tourism industry in the state for wealth creation, employment generation, self actualisation and sustainability.

Iwodi expressed his optimism that the ingenuity embedded in the concept of the festival would serve as a beacon to other states in their desire to diversify the sources of internal generated revenue. He enjoined corporate bodies to sign up as veritable partners of Akwa Ibom State by supporting the execution of the festival.
