Our correspondent was reliably informed that motorists who had queued for long hours protested when the station management informed them that there was no petrol to be sold.
The station manager was said to have engaged in a heated argument with the policemen when they arrived, swearing that there was no petrol in stock.
“An inspection of the station’s reservoir however showed that there was a large quantity of fuel,” an eyewitness told this online newspaper.
Some kegs filled with fuel purportedly for sale at inflated prices were recovered from the suspects who were immediately taken to the Isheri Police Station for further questioning.
