Dignitaries have gathered at St. Andrews Church on Imola Street, Owo, Ondo State for the funeral service of the late former Ondo State governor Rotimi Akeredolu.
Akeredolu died on Wednesday, December 27, 2023, while receiving treatment at a hospital in Germany for prostate cancer. He was aged 67.
Among those present at the funeral service on Friday are Vice President Kashim Shettima, Ondo State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, Anambra State Governor Charles Soludo, former Ondo State governor Olusegun Mimiko, Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun, and his Lagos State counterpart Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
Also present are Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde and his Ekiti State counterpart Biodun Oyebanji, national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Abdullahi Ganduje, Edo State Governor Godwin Obaseki, former Ogun State governor Ibikunle Amosun, and minister of marine and blue economy, Gboyega Oyetola, among others.
Interment follows immediately after the funeral service at the burial site in Owo.
