With the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential ticket his to lose, former military Head of State, General Muhammadu Buhari, has released a set of pictures that make him look…presidential.
Dressed by Uche Nnaji of OUCH, the 71-year-old Katsina-born soldier turned politician, is a departure from the stony-faced ruler who called the shots from Dodan Barracks in Lagos from December 31, 1983 to August 27, 1985.
Obviously borrowing from photo-ops by American President, Barack Obama, and Goodluck Jonathan, the man he hopes to unseat come 2015, Buhari contracted one of Nigeria’s best photographers, Kelechi Amadi Obi, to take the shots.
This is Buhari’s fourth attempt at returning to power as a civilian president. He lost to former military Head of State, General Olusegun Obasanjo; fellow Katsina indigene, Umaru Musa Yar’Adua, and incumbent President Jonathan in 2003, 2007 and 2011 successfully.
His supporters believe the elections were rigged to deny him victory.
