It was about 10.30am on Thursday, July 14.
Three young Hausa-Fulani herdsmen were travelling along the very busy Nnamdi Azikiwe Airport Road when one of the animals left the sidewalk and jumped right in the middle of the highway.
The incident, which occurred opposite the National Military Cemetery, just few kilometres away from the Federal Capital Territory City Gate, threw the area into commotion as the herders struggled to arrest and put situation under control.
For about 10 minutes, the cow continued to run around the major road, an action that caused panic and almost resulted in an accident.
Motorists, some of whom were afraid going by recent reports of violence unleashed by herdsmen, either drove in panic to get out of the way or were transfixed for fear of hitting the cow.
The cow was eventually brought under control and returned to the herd.
