Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) president, Amaju Pinnick, has revealed why the body is struggling to meet up with its financial needs.

Dream Team coach, Samson Siasia, revealed on Wednesday that he and his assistants have not been paid since January – while his team are yet to get a look from the body.

The Olympic-bound U23 team were totally abandoned in their camp in Atlanta, United States of America (USA), prompting reports that Super Eagles skipper, John Obi Mikel, donated the sum of N9.4 million to ease their suffering.

Aside Siasia and his lads, former Eagles coach, Sunday Oliseh, claims he and his assistant, Jean Francois Lusciuto, are still being owed by their former employers.

It got so bad that the NFF Executive Committee, last week, opted against paying monthly salary to assistant coaches of all national teams who will instead receive only match bonuses and allowances.

And Pinnick, 43, who has been at the receiving end of the brunt, pinpointed the sponsors as chief architects of the unrivalled hardship in the Glass House.

“Trust me, nobody wants to owe,” Pinnick told Goal on Thursday.

“We are going through hell. Sponsors are not redeeming their parts of our partnership.”

However, the former Delta State Football Association boss admitted that the body will bounce back once it receives expected funds from Confederation of African Football (CAF).

“We are expecting some funds from CAF, we will pay immediately,” he assured.

“I don’t earn salaries, neither am I emphatic on allowances. Siasia et al will be paid as soon as we receive funds.”
