Plateau State Governor, Simon Lalong, has hired a global management consulting firm, Boston Consulting Group (BCG), to collaborate with his administration in producing a five-year strategic development plan for the state.
This was revealed in a statement by the chairman of Plateau State Economic Team, Ezekiel Gomos.
The governor’s action comes one week after unveiling his vision for his second term which he said would be anchored on a three-point policy framework – peace, security and good governance; physical infrastructural development; and sustainable economic rebirth.
Mr Gomos said the strategic development plan expected to last till 2024 would provide a clear road map for the state’s future.
Gomos said the process would commence with interactive sessions with all ministries, departments and agencies and selected stakeholders, followed by a diagnosis of the past and current development efforts and leveraging on existing and future development programmes around the country.
He said the project would culminate in the delivery of a strategy document specifying monitoring and evaluation metrics for each sector/MDA and also include appropriate training and capacity building of key actors from the public service to enhance implementation of the plan.
Gomos stated that BCG representative and head of Nigeria office, Jaoa Hrotko, had assured the governor that BCG would deploy its network of experience, expertise and global linkages in meeting the state’s demands.
