The police on Tuesday arraigned a 58-year-old man, Adekoye Kayode, in an Ota Magistrates’ Court in Ogun over alleged burglary.
The Prosecutor, Cpl. Mustapha Abdulkareem, told the court that Kayode, who resides at No.14 Akinosho St., Iyana Illogbo, Ota, was arraigned on a three-court charge of stealing, conspiracy and burglary.
Abdulkareem said the accused and others now at large committed the offences on March 27 at about 5 p.m. at No. 5,Taiwo Oke Baale St., Ijoko, Ota.
He alleged that the accused and his accomplices broke into one Olaniyi Olabope’s apartment and stole electrical fittings valued at N80,000.
Olabope’s neighbours, he added, alerted the police when they noticed the accused allegedly committing the crime.
He said that the offences contravened sections 319 (4b), 411(2) and 516 of the Criminal Code Revised Laws of Ogun State, 2006.
The accused, however, pleaded not guilty to the offences.
Senior Magistrate A. O. Abimbola granted the accused bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties in like sum.
Abimbola, who said such sureties should provide evidence of one year tax clearance from Ogun government, adjourned the case till April 15 for hearing.
