Lagos State Police Command has arrested two persons in connection with the killing of a doctor at Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH), Stephen Urueye.
Lagos police spokesperson, Bala Elkana, said on Friday that the police had begun interrogating the suspects.
“We have two suspects arrested and we are questioning them,” Elkana said.
Mr Elkana said the victim was out with his friends on Thursday night before he was attacked by “armed robbers along the lagoon.”
He added that “they snatched his valuables and was injured and later died on admission.”
The killing sparked outrage among UNILAG students who protested and called for justice.
They alleged that Idi-Araba area of Surulere where LUTH is located has been overtaken by armed thugs.
