Olamide Akinolu, a 30-year-old man, has allegedly been beaten to death by unidentified individuals at Osas Hotel in the Wadoye community of Ogun State’s Ifo Local Government Area.

According to local sources, the incident took place around 12:40 p.m. on Tuesday.

Mr Akinolu allegedly went to the hotel to meet a man he paid N50,000 to rent musical instruments. It was during this meeting that he was reportedly attacked by several suspects.

Witnesses informed PUNCH Online that after the assault, Akinolu began vomiting blood. He was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead by the attending doctor.

Ogun State Police Command, while not revealing a motive for the attack, confirmed the incident through spokesperson Omolola Odutola. She stated that efforts are ongoing to apprehend those responsible.

Odutola said the incident “prompted a group of people to organise an attack on the hotel.”

During the ensuing confrontation, the hotel manager was injured and several pieces of equipment were damaged. She added that police officers were dispatched to restore order.

Meanwhile, Akinolu’s body was transported to a mortuary in Olambe for examination and autopsy.
