The Nigeria Police Force has denied online reports that a seven-year-old boy was burnt to death in the Badagry area of Lagos for allegedly stealing cassava flour (garri).
An unverified video had gone viral on social media purporting to show the killing of the said boy on Tuesday, November 15, 2016.
Assistant Commissioner of Police, Complaint Response Unit (CRU), Abayomi Shogunle, however, denied the reports in messages posted on Twitter on Wednesday.
According to Shogunle, no such event took place in Badagry or any other part of Lagos.
