Police officers in Lagos have been patrolling areas like Oworonshoki, Ifako Waterside, Mushin, Oshodi, Bariga among others to allay fears of possible attack from hoodlums.
Suspected members of a criminal group named “One Million Boys” had on Monday afternoon stormed Oworonshoki, causing panic among residents.
The Rapid Response Squad tweeted on Tuesday, assuring residents that its officers would be on patrol in the areas day and night.
“Police officers are thoroughly patrolling areas like Oworo, Ifako Waterside, Mushin, Oshodi, Bariga etc to ensure the fear of any form of attacks from unknown people are allayed.
“This exercise will be carried out all thru the day and night to restore the confidence of the people,” the tweet read.
Policemen, acting on a tip-off, forestalled an attack on Oworonshoki on Monday.
Since the coronavirus-induced lockdown began on March 31, the state has had to deal with security challenges following reports of robberies in several areas.
