A former minister of state for education Kenneth Gbagi says he is confident the police will soon figure out who is behind the allegation that he ordered hotel workers accused of theft to be stripped.
It was alleged that four employees of Gbagi’s Signatious Hotel, Warri, Delta State were stripped for allegedly conspiring to steal from the company.
“Any responsible person should be able to honour police invitation; anybody who does not honour police invitation is a criminal,” Gbagi told PUNCH on Sunday.
“The police will soon know who is sponsoring the whole incident.”
The female hotel workers were allegedly stripped naked, photographed, arrested and arraigned before a Delta State Magistrates’ Court sitting in Effurun, Uvwie Local Government Area of the state over the alleged disappearance of money belonging to the hotel.
Gbagi said he had not received any invitation by the police.
Meanwhile, the Inspector-General of Police Mohammed Adamu had vowed last week to get justice.
Gbagi, who is nursing a governorship ambiton, has severally denied giving the order for the hotel workers to be stripped.
He has also denied any of his children was involved.
