Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Zubairu Muazu, has said that security agencies are working round the clock to ensure the safe return of Director of the State Fire Service, Rasaki Musibau, and others kidnapped last Saturday.
Mr Musibau and six others were abducted by unknown gunmen on Saturday around 8.00pm on Iwoye Bridge, Itoikin-Epe Road.
The CP said after the state Security Council meeting chaired by Governor Akinwunmi Ambode in Alausa, Ikeja: “I confirm that there was incident of kidnapping involving the state Director of Fire Service and all the security agencies in the state are working toward the safe release of the victims.
“For now, this is all I need to reveal about the kidnap, but we are working to ensure their safe return.”
Muazu added that the council also extensively reviewed the security situation in the state.
He said that the government and security agencies had resolved to beef up security in the state following renewed wave of crime, and to ensure smooth and peaceful transition of government to the incoming administration.
