Selfie-loving Pope Francis is signing up to Instagram this week, Italian news agency ANSA reported Thursday.
The Pope will take his charm to the photo-sharing website to marks the third anniversary of his inauguration as leader of the Catholic Church.
He will post pictures under the handle @Franciscus.
This is the latest attempt by the Vatican to ensure Pope Francis’s message reaches a maximum number of believers and non-believers across the world.
The church hopes that, by tapping into social media channels, it will broaden its appeal and attract more members among the younger generation.
Francis is already a major player on Twitter, where he tweets regularly in nine languages – including Latin – under the @Pontifex handle.
No one can be excluded from the mercy of God. The Church is the house where everyone is welcomed and no one is rejected.

His English Twitter account is followed by nearly 9 million people and the Spanish one by more than 11 million.
The Twitter account was created during the papacy of Benedict XVI and inherited by the incumbent.
Francis has been expected to join Instagram for some time, after he met the site’s co-founder Kevin Systrom at the Vatican last month.
Systrom later revealed they had discussed “the power of images to unite people across different cultures and languages”.
In a post on his own Instagram account, Systrom also said: “It was by far one of the most memorable experiences of my life!”
