Controversial singer Habeeb Okikiola, widely known as Portable, has issued an apology following a confrontation with a preacher outside his bar.
The apology came after gospel singer Testimony Jaga gave Portable a three-day ultimatum to apologise to the pastor or face unspecified consequences.
In an Instagram post on Monday, Portable explained that his reaction stemmed from a past traumatic experience involving his sister, who was once attacked by someone posing as a pastor.
This incident left him deeply unsettled and contributed to his suspicion of the preacher.
Portable expressed that the pastor’s behavior seemed suspicious, leading him to believe it was another setup.
While apologising for his actions, he emphasised that his response was driven by distress and self-protection.
“They wanted to set me up. He was not a man of God, and if he was, may God forgive me for slapping him.
“If I knew he was a real man of God, I wouldn’t have slapped him. The way he acted was why I slapped him. I’m human, and I’m not perfect,” Portable stated.
The apology followed after Testimony Jaga publicly demanded it, urging Portable to make amends within three days or face the consequences of his actions.
