Portable apologises to Saheed Osupa over copyright dispute

Singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has publicly apologised to Fuji singer Saheed Osupa after calling him “big for nothing” amid a copyright dispute.

Portable, 32, lashed out at Osupa on Wednesday after his song was taken down from Apple Music and Spotify over alleged copyright infringement.

The track reportedly included a line from one of Osupa’s songs, prompting complaints from the Fuji star’s distribution team.

Following heavy backlash online, Portable took to Instagram on Thursday to express regret, blaming his outburst on his temper.

“It’s money that causes a fight. It’s money that destroys siblings’ relationships and causes a fight between father and son,” he said.

He went on to plead for forgiveness, referring to Osupa as his “daddy” and asking to be “abducted” as his child.

This is not the first time Portable has been caught in controversy, but his latest apology suggests he is trying to make amends.

His statement comes just days after actor and comedian Ijoba Lande advised him to be mindful of his words, following the release of a song about his marital issues.
