Portable cries out as government seals uncompleted building, hotel

Controversial singer Habeeb Okikiola, better known as Portable, has raised alarm after the government sealed his uncompleted building and hotel over alleged illegal development.

In a now-deleted Instagram post on Thursday, Portable shared a letter indicating that the action was taken due to a lack of an approval permit.

The-30-year old claimed that authorities arrested over 20 people, including artistes, customers and those who had come to seek help from him.

He also alleged that cars, bikes and phones were confiscated during the operation.

Expressing his frustration, Portable questioned why his property was being targeted despite his efforts to contribute to the community.

He stated that his venue was not just a bar but a space for booking events and promoting talents.

“I believe in Eledumare, nobody can bring me down,” he wrote.

“They arrested over 20 people, took cars, bikes, and even phones. They sealed my uncompleted building and hotel. Why? I have been helping the government—installing streetlights and calling them to repair roads—but they are shutting down my property.”

This is not the first time Portable has clashed with the authorities.

In August 2024, he personally brought a tractor to Sango-Ota to fix bad roads.

The singer had earlier criticised Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun after his Range Rover got stuck in a ditch due to poor road conditions.

Following his outburst, Portable claimed he received N2 million in compensation and was assured that road repairs would be carried out.

He later visited the Atan-Lusada-Agbara road project and commended the government for its efforts.
