Controversial singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has unveiled a new look and publicly apologised to Fuji music icon Saheed Osupa following his release from a correctional facility in Kwara State.

The Zazuu Zeh crooner, who now sports a clean-shaven head, shared a video of his new appearance on Instagram on Tuesday while expressing remorse to the musician.

“God bless you, sir. I am sorry, Bami,” he wrote, acknowledging his missteps and showing appreciation.

Portable was arrested on Monday by the Kwara State Police Command over allegations including criminal defamation, threat to life, incitement and conduct likely to cause a breach of peace.

The charges stemmed from online videos in which he made damaging remarks about Saheed Osupa.

He was remanded after failing to meet bail conditions of N1 million and two sureties—one of whom had to be the Chairman of the Performing Musicians Association of Nigeria (PMAN).

In a turn of events, Saheed Osupa announced on Tuesday that he had withdrawn the case against Portable after receiving appeals from several prominent Nigerians.

The Fuji star clarified that his intention was to issue a stern warning rather than pursue legal punishment.

He added that Portable was given three conditions for the case to be dropped: to retract his statements, admit they were false and sign a formal undertaking.
