When efforts to get Portable to pay the balance proved abortive, the car dealer reported the matter to the police and policemen detailed to investigate the case arrested the Zazu singer.

When confronted by the police, the singer jumped a gate and made an attempt to escape but was eventually caught by the police.

According to the Lagos State Police Command’s spokesman, Benjamin Hudenyin on Wednesday, the singer will remain in detention pending when he’s able to produce a reliable surety before he can be granted bail.

“He has presented no reliable surety yet so he (Portable) is still with us,” Hundeyin said.
