Actress Akinyanju Omobolarinde, better known as Ashabi Simple, has tearfully prayed for divine intervention following the police declaration of her partner, singer Portable as wanted.
In a video posted on her Instagram Story on Tuesday, Ashabi, who shares a child with the controversial musician, broke down in tears as she pleaded for mercy.
“God, please show me your mercy. I can’t even help myself. I am so tired. Please help him for the sake of those he has been good to,” she said.
Portable was declared wanted over an alleged attack on officials of the Ogun State ministry of physical planning and urban development.
The Zazoo Zeh singer was accused of leading nine others in an assault on three officials—TPL Onabanjo Abidemi, TPL Raymond Lateef and TPL Ridwan Oyero Akinlesi—who were carrying out an enforcement exercise at Oke-Osa, Tigbo Ilu, Ota.
According to the officials, they encountered Portable’s father at Odogwu Bar while requesting an approved building plan. Shortly after, the singer allegedly arrived with a firearm and other weapons, attacking them alongside his gang.
A police statement said the officers sustained injuries but managed to escape and report the incident. Nine suspects were arrested, while Portable fled and has since gone into hiding.
