A 20-year-old man, Tosin Kayode, who allegedly defiled a minor, was on Monday charged before an Ikeja Chief Magistrates’ Court.
The accused porter, who resides along the Railway Line, Agege, a suburb of Lagos is being tried for defilement.
The prosecutor, Insp.Clifford Ogu told the court that the offence was committed on December 10 at Railway Line, Agege.
Ogu said that the accused defiled a five-year-old daughter of one of the women who usually begged for alms in Agege.
“The accused was caught by a passer-by while defiling the child and he raised an alarm, thereafter, the accused was apprehended,” he said.
The accused, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The chief magistrate, Mrs Taiwo Akanni granted the accused to a bail of N50,000 with two sureties in like sum.
Akanni adjourned the case until January 15, 2018, for a mention.
