Actress Funke Akindele congratulated the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party Ademola Adeleke on defeating Osun State Governor Ggboyega Oyetola in the governorship election.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Sunday morning declared Ademola Adeleke winner of the election.
INEC returning officer for the poll Prof. Oluwatoyin Ogundipe said Adeleke got a total of 403,371 votes while the incumbent Governor Ggboyega Oyetola of the All Progressives Congress got 375,027 votes.
Shortly after the announcement was made, Funke Akindele took to Instagram to celebrate with Adeleke, saying that power has changed hands.
The 44-year-old described him as the light of Osun State and prayed for God to grant him good health.
“Congratulations Senator Ademola Adeleke on your victory as the next Governor of Osun State. Indeed power has changed hands. IMOLE DE!!! Sir, you are the light of Osun State and I pray God grants you good health and long life to achieve all your good intentions for the people of Osun. God bless you sir. PDP!!! POWER.”
