Nollywood actress, Ufuoma McDermott, has hailed colleague, Mercy Johnson, for her resilience in promoting her movie, The Legend of Inikpi, despite being pregnant.
Ufuoma said in a post on Instagram early Tuesday that she was ‘proud’ of Mercy.
“This is @mercyjohnsonokojie and I am so proud of her! ❤️ Many people would assume that being pregnant will slow her but she has successfully promoted the highest-grossing epic movie in cinemas 💪,” she said, before asking fans to go see the movie.
Mercy Johnson, 35, wrote in the comments’ section of the post that Ufuoma made her cry. She also thanked her for the ‘support and love’.
The actress, who is carrying her fourth child, premiered the movie on January 19.
The Legend of Inikpi, directed by Frank Rajah Arase, became available in cinemas from January 24.
The movie is a story of the Igala warrior, Princess Inikpi Oma Ufedo, who offered herself to be buried alive in the bid to secure victory for her land against the Benin Kingdom.
Starring in the movie alongside Mercy, the producer, are Sam Dede, Paul Obazele, Odunlade Adekola, Saidi Balogun and others.
