Tennis great, Serena Williams, has posed for the cover of popular American magazine, Vanity Fair, exposing her pregnant belly.
The 35-year-old may be off the circuit getting ready to have a baby and planning a wedding, but she knows how to stay in the headlines.
In gorgeous photos by renowned photographer Annie Leibowitz, the tennis goddess showed off her powerful, feminine shape and gushes details about her pregnancy, what it was like telling her fiancé, Reddit’s co-round Alexis Ohanian, and details on their romance.
The fascinating bit in the article is her description of how she found out she was expecting, right before the Australian Open.
“Oh my God, this can’t be—I’ve got to play a tournament,” was Serena’s awesome response. “How am I going to play the Australian Open? I had planned on winning Wimbledon this year.”
The former world No. 1 also sweetly talked about preparing for Ohanian’s proposal.
“I knew it was coming,” she said of the proposal. “I was like, ‘Serena, you’re ready. This is what you want.’”
The release of the pregnancy pictures comes a day after Serena was forced to defend herself following John McEnroe’s claimed she’d struggle if she played on the men’s circuit.
McEnroe, a seven-time Grand Slam champion, told NPR radio station in America: “If she played the men’s circuit she’d be, like, 700 in the world.
“If she had to just play the men’s circuit, it would be an entirely different story.”
Serena Williams tweeted to ask John McEnroe to leave her alone as she was trying to have a baby.
Dear John, I adore and respect you but please please keep me out of your statements that are not factually based.

I’ve never played anyone ranked “there” nor do I have time. Respect me and my privacy as I’m trying to have a baby. Good day sir

Serena is expected to return to the pro tennis circuit in January next year.
