Premier League-bound Wolves approach Musa

Ahmed Musa CSKA

Newly-promoted Championship side, Wolverhampton Wanderers, are looking to sign Super Eagles star, Ahmed Musa.

According to reports, the striker, who is currently on loan at CSKA Moscow, is on the radar of Nuno Santo, despite failing to make the cut during his time in the Premier League with Leicester City.

The Nigerian completed a move to the King Power in 2016, just a matter of months after the Foxes were crowned Premier League champions.

He cost the club £16.6 million, which at the time was a record transfer fee, but he failed to deliver, and his performances were well below expectations.

In his first season at the King Power Stadium, he played 32 games in all competitions, scoring just four goals.

Changes in manager did not help Ahmed Musa to settle in at Leicester, and he was loaned back to CSKA, the club who he originally joined from, in January of this year.

He has been back in the goals since he returned to Russia, scoring five times in just nine appearances.

Musa is still just 25-years-old, and he still has plenty to offer, and maybe with a different club things might work out in the top flight.

For someone who is not particularly old, he boasts a wealth of experience, especially at international level.

Ahmed Musa has made 67 appearances for Nigeria, scoring 13 goals, playing in two World Cups in the process.

Leicester City is reported to want to recoup the £16 million they spent on the Nigerian striker, but due to his failings in the English top flight, Wolves may feel they can lure him away for a cheaper fee.
