Prince William has appointed British-born Nigerian creative director Femi Elufowoju Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) in the 2023 Birthday Honours for services to drama.
Mr Elufowoju shared a photo of the Prince of Wales decorating him with the honour on Instagram.
Dedicating the honour to his late mother, the 60-year-old wrote: “A moment to reflect on the present and the absent. Empire and my Continent. The Arts, we appreciate and love. And Family, and the importance of peace. It was a beautiful day.
“A day dedicated to my Mother, Regina Mojoyin Elufowoju nee Omisore, whose formative years in colonial Nigeria, and tireless work and strife in 60 70s Britain, remain unforgotten. Smile from heaven Mama. This is for you.”
