General overseer of Christ Mercyland Deliverance Ministry in Warri, Delta State Prophet Jeremiah Fufeyin has reacted to the death of actor Junior Pope, stating that marine powers are not mightier than the power of Jesus Christ.
Junior Pope was confirmed dead on April 10 after several attempts to resuscitate him failed. The actor alongside four other crew members drowned in River Niger on their way back from the set of Another Side of Life, a movie produced by Adanma Luke.
Junior Pope began his acting career in 2006 and acted in more than 150 Nollywood movies including Bachelor Eve, Vengeance of Bullet, Bitter Generation, The Generals, Wrong Initiation, The Cat, Nkwocha, Secret Adventure.
The 39-year-old got married to Jennifer Awele in 2014 and they have three children.
Fufeyin told his congregants in a video posted on Instagram on Monday that those saying Junior Pope died because he did not acknowledge marine powers were ignorant.

The cleric played a video of a self-proclaimed water worshipper before his congregation. In the video, the water worshipper said the boat accident which resulted in the death of Junior Pope and others was a sacrifice demanded by the water spirits.
The water worshipper claimed that Junior Pope and others who died in the water must be buried by the riverbank.
Reacting to this, Fufeyin advised his congregants to always have spiritual fathers who will guide them, adding “Let native doctors in River Niger, Onitsha bridge or wherever not try the power of Jesus Christ.”
“Water powers, marine spirits can never be used to compare the power of Jesus Christ,” he said.
