Head of Genesis Parish of the Celestial Church of Christ in the Alagbado area of Lagos, Prophet Israel Ogundipe aka Prophet Genesis, has settled his two-year rift with gospel singer Lanre Teriba aka Atorise.
Both men clashed in 2022 when Genesis publicly accused another cleric Rev Mother Esther Ajayi of abandoning him while he was in prison.
Genesis was in 2021 convicted and sentenced to jail for defrauding a London-based architect and converting her property for personal use.
However, Genesis and Lanre reunited at the wake for gospel singer Dele Agbeyo aka Dele Gold in Lagos on Wednesday evening, September 18.
While singing, Atorise expressed his admiration for Genesis and sent greetings to the clergyman’s wife whom he addressed as Shola, indicative of their close relationship.
He then invited Genesis’ son, also known as Winners, to the stage, noting that he (Lanre) performed at his naming ceremony 25 years ago.
Lanre had on stage Genesis, his wife, his son, another singer Esther Igbekele and others.
“There is no gain in fighting ourselves. We can always settle issues amicably. Me and Genesis have come a long way. One of the prophet’s sons who was born 25 years ago, I was among those who were at his naming ceremony. Let’s embrace each other and celebrate ourselves while we are still alive,” said Lanre.
