Protests: Tinubu to address Nigerians today

Bola Tinubu

President Bola Tinubu will on Sunday address the nation in a broadcast at 7:00 am.

His spokesman Ajuri Ngelale announced this in a statement on Saturday.

He urged television, radio, and other electronic media outlets to join the network services of the Nigerian Television Authority and the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria for the broadcast.

The statement added, “The broadcast will be repeated on the network services of the NTA and the FRCN at 3:00 pm and 7:00 pm on the same day.”

There have been calls for the president to address the country to calm the tension caused by protests which began on August 1.

The protesters are calling for an end to bad governance. According to them, the Tinubu administration’s policies have made life difficult for the masses.

In Kano, protests turned violent on August 1 as protesters looted an ICT hub built by the Nigeria Communications Commission (NCC).
