Chinese club, Jiangsu Suning, have officially signed former Chelsea midfielder Ramires, with the Premier League side announcing the deal on Wednesday.
The 28-year-old leaves Stamford Bridge after five-and-a-half years in London, where he made over 250 appearances for the club and scored 34 goals in total.
While the Brazilian has now put pen to paper on personal terms and has passed a medical in a deal worth a stunning £25m, he leaves England having won the Premier League last year and also lifted the Champions League in 2012.
The news of his move to Jiangsu comes after the club’s proposed move for AC Milan striker, Luiz Adriano, broke down, with the Brazilian now expected to remain at the San Siro until the end of the season.
In his heartfelt message to Blues fans, Ramires thanked the club for the memories while at London-side.
“I would like say thanks to Chelsea and their fans for all good moments that I have lived here,” Ramires wrote on Instagram.
“I’m proud to have written my name in the club’s history with titles, especially the Champions League.
“I need to say a special thanks also to all people who have supported me daily, staff, management and team partners. You’ll always have my admiration. Thank you, @chelseafc.”
Ramires’ most memorable though his most memorable moment in the blue shirt of Chelsea came away at the Camp Nou in the 2012 Champions League semi-final.
With Chelsea trailing Barcelona in the Champions League semi-final second leg, the Brazilian latched onto a Frank Lampard through ball before sublimely chipping Victor Valdes to put the West Londoners back in front in the tie, which they eventually won.
Meanwhile, Ramires will join up with another former Chelsea player at his new club, with Dan Petrescu currently in charge of Jiangsu following on from a successful spell with the Blues between 1995 and 2000.
