Rangers International Football Club have declared their striker, Daniel Etor, missing.
The club’s Director of Media and Public Relations, Foster Chime, made this known in a statement in Enugu on Saturday.
Chime said that the player absented himself from training without permission.
“Daniel Etor’s whereabouts now is unknown and efforts to locate or communicate with him had been futile.
“The player, according to the club’s coaches, alighted from the official club bus on their way back from Ilorin, where they played league match with ABS FC of Ilorin the previous day and eloped without trace,” he said.
Chime said that the club’s management had on Thursday sent a letter to that effect to the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).
He said the management had decided that the player’s salary might be withheld, while considering other punitive measures against him.
