Reekado Banks launches record label after leaving Don Jazzy

Pop singer Reekado Banks has officially announced his new record label Banks Music days after leaving Mavin Records.

The 25-year old made the announcement in a series of photos and video posted to Instagram on Sunday.

“Going Forward … Banks Music!!” he announced to his excited followers.

Reekado confirmed his departure from Mavin in an Instagram post on Friday, December 7.

Having joined the label in 2014, he described the five years as the most blissful of his career.

He confessed that Don Jazzy “took me in and treated me like his son.”

Reekado premiered the single ‘Turn It Up on February 21, 2014, which happens to be the same day he got signed to Mavin Records.

He was featured alongside label mates Don Jazzy, Korede Bello, Tiwa Savage, Di’Ja, Dr SID and D’Prince on the critical acclaim song ‘Dorobucci’, which was released on 1 May 2014.

He released his debut album Spotlight under the label in 2016.
