Former Nollywood actress, model and beauty queen, Regina Askia-Williams, has become an American citizen, 16 years after relocating to the US.
The 49-year-old University of Lagos graduate announced her new status in a message posted on Facebook on Friday (American time).
“And so today I made it official, I took the oath and became a citizen of the United States of America. Empowered and armed for the full pursuit of life, liberty and happiness,” she wrote.
Married to American, Rudolph ‘Rudy’ Williams, the former Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria (MBGN) titleholder relocated to the United States in 2001.
She survived the 9/11 terrorists attack on the World Trade Center in New York City three months after her relocation.
The Most Wanted actress and mother of three is now a registered nurse, healthcare and educational activist, writer and public speaker.
