Lawrence Daniels, brother of Nollywood actress Regina Daniels, has debunked reports that their mother Rita Daniels is married to her young lover.
According to him, the veteran actress did not contract a secret wedding as widely speculated on social media.
Photos of Rita and Larry Zuka, an American-based singer and songwriter, purportedly having a traditional wedding ceremony have been circulating online.
In the photos, Rita is seen with a younger man in different traditional attires while guests are seen in the background.
Some fans immediately attacked Rita Daniels for allegedly giving her daughter’s hand in marriage to an older man Ned Nwoko but decided to marry a younger man for herself.
Rita fueled speculation with an Instagram post on Wednesday, May 26 which she simply captioned True Love Wins.”
Interestingly, Larry also took to Instagram to write: “Thank God I found you.”
According to social media speculations, Regina Daniels and some of her siblings were not in support of the idea of their mother getting married to her young.
However, Rita Daniel’s first son told The Nation that all the stories associated with the viral photos are untrue.
According to him, the supposed wedding pictures that infiltrated the internet were actually scenes from a new movie that his mother is part of.
He noted that social media users can go ahead to “catch cruise” as they will eventually be shocked when they find out the pictures are from a movie scene.
Rita Daniels played a huge part in her daughter Regina’s marriage to businessman and politician Ned Nwoko.
A proud polygamist, Nwoko has expressed a desire to marry more wives.
