Singer Divine Ikubor, popularly known as Rema, has suspended all his performances slated for December.
Rema made the announcement in an Instagram story on Wednesday.
The ‘Calm Down’ singer who was initially scheduled to tour the cities of Lagos, Abuja, and Benin, said he would not be performing anywhere this December due to health reasons.
He, however, promised to return to the stage next year.
Rema wrote: “It breaks my heart to say that I won’t be performing anywhere this December. Been years of touring, I’ve ignored my health and I need time to recuperate. 2024, we go again, love.”
Last month, Rema’s colleague Tiwa Savage postponed her first-ever headline show at the O2 Arena in London due to a viral infection that affected her voice.
The 43-year-old announced this in a statement via Instagram on Tuesday, where she stated that she has been fighting off the virus for the past few weeks and was instructed to be on strict vocal for the next few months.

Tiwa also apologised to her fans, promising to be back on stage once she is fully healed.
“To my dear Savage Soldiers, I’ve been fighting off a virus for the past few weeks and was today firmly instructed to be on strict vocal rest for the next few months. I will unfortunately have to postpone all performances including my first ever headline arena show in London. I’m heartbroken and devastated but I have to do this to save what’s left of my voice. I’m so sorry. I love you all and promise to be back performing once I’m fully healed,” she wrote.
