Actress Remi Surutu has thanked her colleague Iyabo Ojo for visiting her daughter’s grave.
Iyabo who visited her mother’s grave on Wednesday to celebrate the latter’s posthumous birthday also visited Remi’s daughter Ayomikun who died on July 2, 2018.
Reacting to Iyabo’s gestures, Remi posted a photo of the actress by her daughter’s graveside, thanking her for the visit.
“Iyabomi. Thank you. Melt my heart always I swear I love you,” she wrote.
On the first anniversary of Ayomikun’s death, Remi recounted the pain of losing her daughter and how difficult it was to go on without her.
“How do I recount the memories we shared together? How long do I have to stay strong without you by my side? How much strengths do I need, for me to realize that you have truly embarked on a journey of forever? Ayomikun…it’s a year today!!! Ayomikun…we miss you at every moment of thought,” she wrote on Instagram.
Ayomikun reportedly died from complications arising from sickle cell anemia.
Her passing was announced on social media by actor, Yomi Fabiyi, who expressed his shock.
Remi, born Remilekun Oshodi, kicked off her acting career in 1985 with the classic TV series, Village Headmaster and Sparks.
She shot into limelight as the lead character in the indigenous movie Surutu.
