Yoruba actress Remi Surutu has announced the death of her mum who died at age 101.
The movie star made the announcement in an Instagram post on Tuesday.
Sharing a photo of the deceased, she wrote, “Maami Is Gone at 101 words failed me.”
Fellow celebrities like Adunni Ade, Eniola Badmus, Wumi Toriola, Ronke Odusanya and Sotayo Ogaga consoled her in the comment section of the post.
In 2017, the actress lost one of her daughters Ayomikun to sickle cell disease.
Remi, born Remilekun Oshodi, kicked off her acting career in 1985 with the classic TV series, Village Headmaster and Sparks.
She shot into limelight as the lead character in the indigenous movie Surutu.
