First lady Remi Tinubu and wife of the vice president Nana Shettima on Thursday paid a visit to former President Muhammadu Buhari in Daura, Katsina State.

Buhari stepped out to receive the women and their entourage on arrival at his home.

Buhari was not at the national caucus meeting of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Wednesday presided over by President Bola Tinubu in Aso Villa, Abuja.

Since handing over to Tinubu on May 29, Buhari has continued to receive visitors in Daura.

In April, Buhari said he could not wait to return to Daura and that if he is disturbed he would leave for Niger Republic.

Buhari stated this while speaking in the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa, Abuja, during a Sallah homage paid to him by the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) residents led by the ex-minister Mohammed Bello.

“I can’t wait to go home to Daura. If they make any noise to disturb me in Daura, I will leave for the Niger Republic. I deliberately arranged to be as far away as possible. I got what I wanted and will quietly retire to my hometown.

“In spite of technology, it will not be easy to get to Daura,” he said.
