First lady Aisha Buhari has reposted to social media a video of the minister of communications and digital economy Isa Pantami weeping over insurgency in the country.
Mrs Buhari dominated discussions on social media when she first posted the video on Sunday with a cryptic message in Hausa which is translated in English as “Remove fear and be courageous to do the right thing.”
Her exact message was not clear to the public.
However, before noon on Monday, she reposted the video with more text.
Translated to English, her message originally written in Hausa reads, “Mallam’s interpretation is about the fear of God not man! Once fear and selfishness have been removed and Zamfara State is liberated, things are starting to look good. You must insist and move to other places that need it.”
Zamfara is one of the northern states overrun by bandits.
Although it is not clear if it was a jibe at Pantami, many have interpreted it as a message to her husband’s administration.
Pantami, who is also an Islamic cleric, had admitted he previously held extremist views after facing calls for resignation in April.
He apologised for his past comments, saying he now knows better and that his past comments were from his days in the university.
