A former presidential aide Reno Omokri on Thursday published his payslip as a special assistant to former President Goodluck Jonathan.
The slip, which was dated January 2015, showed his gross earning was over N1 million while his net earning (after deductions)was N859, 062.
Mr Omokri also attached an appointment letter from the office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation dated August 22, 2011, and addressed to him. Omokri however blurred the name on the letter.
In a tweet, he mocked President Muhammadu Buhari’s senior special assistants whom he claims earn the same amount as he did but have seen the value dropped due to the devaluation of the naira.
“My payslip and appointment letter as SA to President @GEJonathan. My monthly salary was equivalent to $6500,” Omokri said.
*Today, SSA’s to Buhari still earn the same amount, only that their salary is now equivalent to only $1200. In 2023, vote Atiku if you want a better Naira!”
The naira was below N200 during the Jonathan administration. It has however dropped to N700 in the Buhari administration.
