The House of Representatives has resolved to sue the Minister of Niger Delta Affairs Godswill Akpabio following the expiration of a 48-hour ultimatum.
Speaker Femi Gbajabiamila had on Tuesday asked Mr Akpabio to within 48 hours name federal lawmakers whom he claimed got contracts from the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC).
“The honourable minister has failed to respond to my requests,” Gbajabiamila said at the beginning of plenary on Thursday.
He added that he had asked the House clerk Patrick Giwa to consult the legal department on how to institute legal action against Akpabio for perjury and criminal defamation.
