Actors Rita Dominic, Ibinabo Fiberesima, Desmond Elliot, and several others turned out in solidarity with their colleague Monalisa Chinda as she laid her mother, Comfort Chinda, to rest in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, on Wednesday.
Monalisa had announced the death of her mother on March 30 on Instagram, where she penned a heartfelt tribute celebrating the late matriarch’s love and guidance.
“Rest in peace, Mom – Dame Comfort Franca Chinda. You will forever be in our hearts. I’m thankful for the time we shared, for your selfless devotion to our family, for your unwavering love, and for the principles you instilled in us,” she wrote.
The funeral was a star-studded affair, with guests including comedian Julius Agwu and fellow Nollywood stars dressed in coordinated outfits.
Also present were the president of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), Emeka Rollas and actor Ejike Asiegbu.
Monalisa has since received an outpouring of love and support from friends, fans and colleagues.
