The Meeting, a 2012 Nigerian romantic comedy drama produced by Rita Dominic and Mildred Okwo, won the People’s Choice Award (PCA) at the Nollywood Film Festival in Paris, France.
Rita, who shone like a million stars at the festival, thanked “everyone who voted for us.”
To emerge best film, The Meeting, directed by Mildred Okwo, had to edge out Biyi Bandele’s Half of A Yellow Sun, Michelle Dede’s Flower Girl, Tope Oshin-Ogun’s Journey To Self, Daniel Emeke Oriahi’s Misfit and Kenneth Gyang’s Confusion Na Wa.
Producers of the winning film get to use a high tech optical lens for free in their next film project as well as screening at the one-day African Culture Festival scheduled for 2015.
On the Nollywood delegation to the festival were Mahmood Ali Balogun, OC Ukeje, Omoni Oboli, Chika Chukwu, Ashionye Raccah, Mildred Okwo, Tope Oshin-Ogun and Rita Dominic.
