Nollywood actress Rita Edochie has been off Instagram since telling those criticising her over the death of comedienne Ada Jesus that they “will be the next on the line.”
Rita’s last Instagram post was on April 26, five days after Ada Jesus’ death.
The post is a video of a young man who defended the veteran actress for not immediately forgiving Ada Jesus when the latter sought forgiveness for defaming her.
In the caption section of the video, the actress wrote, “For those of you still talking anyhow, you will be next on the line. I don’t know this boy, but I want to thank you so much for saying the truth, my mind and that of my family.”
Before her death, Ada Jesus had made several allegations against Rita and Anambra-based Prophet Chukwuemeka Odumeje.
She claimed that Odumejeje connived with Rita to stage fake miracles and further alleged that she helped the older woman get men to sleep with.
Angered by the allegations, Edochie and Odumejeje vowed never to forgive the skit maker. They both cursed the comedienne when her family took her to Odumeje’s church for prayer.
The actress and Odumeje, however, made a U-turn after overwhelming public condemnation of their action, saying they had forgiven the comedienne.
Rita, however, kept cursing those who supported the young woman and even suggested that similar fate will befall those who criticise men of God.
She shared a series of videos after Ada’s death, one of which is of Bishop David Abioye preaching that life is not funfair and that those who are gentle end as losers.
With many requesting that she should act like the Christian she says she is; Rita has now taken a break from Instagram.
She has not made another post after that of April 26 as at the time of filing this report on May 4.
The public has since shifted interest to Yoruba comedian Baba Ijesha who is accused of sexually molesting a teenager kept in the care of comedienne Princess.
