The funeral service of the former group chief executive officer of Access Holdings Plc Herbert Wigwe, his wife, Doreen, and son Chizi has begun.
The combined funeral service is being held at the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Lion of Judah Parish, Isiokpo, Rivers State.
Private interment will follow immediately after the service.
Their remains were brought in separate vehicles and driven into the church premises at exactly 11am Saturday.

Among the dignitaries present are Wigwe’s business partner Aigboje Aig-Imoukhuede, Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara, Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun, chairman of Dangote Group, Aliko Dangote; former governor of Ekiti State, Kayode Fayemi; and former minister of transportation, Rotimi Amaechi.
Also present is former presidential candidate, Peter Obi; Abia State Governor Alex Otti, former Senate President Bukola Saraki, former governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Muhammadu Sanusi among others.
Wigwe, wife and son and a former group chairman of Nigerian Exchange Group, Abimbola Ogunbanjo, died in a helicopter crash that occurred near a border town between California and Nevada in the United States on February 9.
The funeral rites commenced on Monday, March 4, 2024.
