The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has granted Super Eagles coach, Gernot Rohr, leave from attending the ongoing Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) invitational tournament in Kano, to allow him spend Christmas with his Madagascan wife, Completesportsnigeria.com has reported.
Super Eagles media officer, Toyin Ibitoye, confirmed to the publication on Thursday evening that the 64-year-old German has rejoined his wife to celebrate the yuletide season and he is expected to team-up with CHAN Eagles in Morocco in January.
“NFF gave Rohr a break for the Christmas period, after the World Cup Draw in Russia,” Ibitoye told Completesportsnigeria.com.
“He is back in Germany and may be heading to Madagascar for holidays with his family. Coach Rohr is married to a Madagascan and he might spend his holidays there this yuletide season
“He is expected to join us in Morocco in January for the African Nations Championship in Tangier.”
CHAN 2018 is scheduled for Morocco from January 13 to February 4, 2018. The home-based Super Eagles is expected to leave for Morocco early in January to begin full preparations for tournament.
