Former Brazil forward, Ronaldo Nazário, is now the official owner of Spanish topflight side, Real Valladolid.
The ex-Real Madrid star takes charge as a maximum shareholder after securing a 51% controlling stake in club shares.
He will also act as chairman of the Board of Directors while Carlos Suárez will continue in his position as club president.
Ronaldo’s idea for the new project couldn’t be clearer: “Our work will be founded on competitiveness, hard work and transparency with everyone contributing to the best of their abilities”.
“We have confected the best team possible to compete in the top flight”.
However, Ronaldo also had a few words for Valladolid’s supporters for whom it won’t be a straightforward adaptation process to the new changes taking place at the club.
“We will be considering the social side in everything we do because we cannot forget about the fans. I want all of them to form part of this club and I invite everyone in the city to take part in this new project. The supporters need to form part of the present and the future of Real Valladolid”.
The former player added that he will try to pass on some of his vast knowledge of the game to current members of the squad.
“Valladolid is an incredible city with huge potential. I will be trying to lend everything I have learned about football to the players and be there for them when they need advice. I will try to run the club efficiently and successfully” he concluded.
Valladolid is currently 16th on the log after two matches.
