Brazil legend, Ronaldo Nazario, has been reportedly linked with the purchase of Spanish topflight side, Real Valladolid.
Valladolid, who returned to LaLiga this summer, is experiencing financial challenge off the pitch.
In recent months it’s been rumoured that Ronaldo, who knows the league well, was interested in buying LaLiga’s newest club.
In fact, last Monday, the radio programme ‘El Larguero’ put numbers on the operation: €30m.
The same outlet added that Ronaldo, as well as becoming the main shareholder, would also become the president of the club.
Carlos Suarez, the current president, would continue at Valladolid as a director.
The former Real Madrid superstar isn’t the only person interested in buying.
Ernesto Tinajero, a Mexican businessman, was close to agreeing on a deal to take over the club a year ago.
However internal issues between Suarez and Jose Luis Losanda and Jose Moro, vice presidents at the club last season, saw a deal fall through.
Let’s see if the former Brazilian international becomes the main shareholder at Valladolid or whether other interested parties make an offer to disrupt negotiations.
In the football world anything could happen until it’s official.
